Our butterfly has now flown away into the sunshine. We took it outside and let it go.

WATER DAY
We need to bring our togs, 2 towels, a warm jersey and a bit more food in our lunch box (because the teachers know we will get really hungry!!)

Fizzing and Foaming
Our topic this term is called 'Fizzing and Foaming'.

We started today by wondering if jelly will melt.
We made some jellies today and next week we will see if they will melt

Fly Swat
Today we played a fun game called Fly Swat. We had to try and beat our buddy to swat a number on the floor, that Mrs Morgan called out.

Our colourful fish
Our poem today was
"Fishes in the water
Fishes in the sea
We all jump up
With a 1,2,3
Fishes in the water
Fishes in the sea
Fishes in the ocean
Trying to get free"
We decided to make some colourful fish

Cricket
Today Matt came to school and taught us some cricket skills. We practised chasing a ball and returning it, running with a ball in lots of different ways. It was fun when we had it under our chin and our arms were like aeroplane wings! Then we had to let the ball run down our bodies into our hands. He gave us all a prize. Thank you Matt. We can't wait until he comes back again next week.

Happy Waitangi Day
Waitangi Day is a public holiday for New Zealanders held on the 6th
February every year to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of
Waitangi, the country's founding document, in 1840.
Official celebrations are held at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds in the Bay of Islands, Northland, but there are also many other events throughout the country.
Can you work out (with Mum and Dad's help), maybe with a calculator, how many years ago the Treaty was signed?
