moveMprove

For 8 weeks on Thursdays we are doing moveMprove. It is a lot of fun as we balance, swing and practise our landings.

Planting veges

We planted some veges in the garden with Room 6 children. We can't wait for them to grow.

Inside the Big Blue Box is...

It was a box with science stuff in it from Hutt Science. 
The theme of this box is 'Sweet and Sour'.

We opened our big blue box today and inside was lots of lunch boxes and some red cabbage!!
The lunch boxes had all the things we needed for the experiments.
We didn't do the experiment that needed the red cabbage.

We decided to make sherbet. All the things we needed were in the box.

Mmmmm - not sure about the taste!

 We had a lot of discussion about what it tasted like and what happened to the powder when we put it in our mouth - it dissolved

Our question was - where did the water come from??
We had lots of ideas
Sophie said the powder mixed with the saliva in our mouth and it dissolved.

We learned that when the citric acid and baking soda mixed with our saliva, it creates Carbon dioxide and this causes the fizzy sensation on our tongue.

It was a lot of fun.

Our Mysterious Big Blue Box!

We had a big blue box delivered to our classroom. We didn't know what was inside it, so we tried to guess.

WHAT IS IN THE BIG BLUE BOX ?

Tennis Coaching

Today we had our first coaching session for Hot Shots Tennis. Paddy is our coach.
We started by playing games to warm up. We played a variation of Rob the Nest. It was fun.
When we were warm, we practised throwing and catching the ball over the net with a partner. We then progressed onto hitting the thrown ball with a racquet. It wasn't easy!!
We are all looking forward to next Monday for our next session.

Sunhats

Now is the time to start finding your sunhat ready for term 4.

It is compulsory to wear sunhats in term 4 when we are outside.

Our hats have to have a brim and cover our necks - caps are unsuitable

Room 4 Lucky Winners

At our last assembly of the term we had a lucky draw.
In the week before we had to colour a picture of the Popup Ice Rink in Lower Hutt.
Cheryl Salt from the Professionals, donated some family tickets to go ice skating.

Our Fried Rice Stories

When I tried the fried rice I liked it. It was very very yummy. We ate it with chopsticks. It wasn't hard. The yummiest was the veges. It was the best fried rice ever.

I liked the fried rice. When I tried the rice it was yummy and it was easy using the chopsticks.

The fried rice was yum but the chopsticks were not very easy for us.

Fried Rice feast!

Today, Rooms 4 and 6 cooked some fried rice. We got to eat it with chopsticks. We all tried our best to eat our rice with our chopsticks but most of us found it really hard!
We all thought it was yummy. We were allowed to keep our chopsticks and take them home.
Mrs Morgan wonders who used their chopsticks to eat their dinner tonight!

Pandas

Today we made panda faces. Pandas are an endangered animal. They live in China and eat bamboo.

Millie comes to visit

Today Millie came to visit us. She is a Cavalier Lowchen Cross. Millie was very cute as she walked around the room checking us all out!!!

Onesie Day

Today we wore our onesies or pyjamas to show our support for the Wellington Free Ambulance. We brought a gold coin donation.
